All of the rules and regulations noted below are designed to protect the rights of all the Riverwalk homeowners in equitable use of the tennis facilities. The Board of Directors (on recommendation from the Tennis Committee) may amend these rules at any time as deemed necessary.
HOURS: The courts are available for play from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM daily. Lights must be out by 11:00 PM.
TENNIS COURTS ARE FOR TENNIS USE ONLY
A. Each court may be reserved according to the rules.
B. No one under eight years of age will be permitted on the courts at any time unless supervised by his/her parents or a resident aged eighteen years or older.
C. Players must wear shoes with non-marking soles. Shirts must be worn at all times while on courts.
D. General courteousness and good sportsmanship are expected at all times while using the tennis facilities.
E. No food or glass containers will be allowed inside the fenced area at any time.
F. The last player leaving the courts must turn out the lights and close the gate.
G. No pets allowed in the fenced in tennis court area.
H. Repair due to damage is the responsibility of the resident. Bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, baby carriages/strollers, and skates are not permitted on the courts.
I. Children not playing tennis are not permitted on the courts
J. Players must clean up ball cans, lids, etc. before leaving.
K. Cigarette butts and drink containers should be disposed of in trash receptacles outside the fenced areas.
L. Non-residents are not permitted on the courts without a resident in attendance.
1. All court reservations are handled via the online reservation system at https://www.reservemycourt.com/
2. Any new resident requesting access to the online sign up system must provide proof of residency in Riverwalk (i.e.; driver license with name and address or recent utility bill with name and address)
3. Two sign-up accounts are permitted per household (address).
4. Access to reservation system is available to residents in good standing only. Any resident not in good standing will have their privileges suspended until their HOA fees are paid.
5. A resident may reserve one court in one calendar day for a maximum of 2 hours and reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance.
6. A resident who cannot use the court during their reserved time should make every attempt to cancel the reservation at the earliest possible time.
7. Failure to show up within fifteen minutes after the reserved start time will result in forfeiture of the reservation and the court will be considered open. 3 or more “no-shows” may result in suspension of court reservation privileges for 30 days.
8. Residents should bring any scheduling conflicts to the Tennis Committee’s attention within 48 hours of the conflict. The committee will attempt to resolve any issues.
9. Teams that are scheduled for home play-off matches for ALTA or USTA will have priority for court reservations as dictated by league rules.
TEAM PROCEDURES AND RULES
A. Non-Residents are required to pay a fee for membership on a RiverWalk tennis team and associated use of the RiverWalk tennis courts. The fee will be for either one season of play or an annual fee for the calendar year beginning January 1 and ending December 31. The fee is due prior to participation in any activity involving the use of the RiverWalk tennis courts.
January – December $60 (Adults/annual)
January – December $30 (Juniors/annual)
Per Season $20 (Adults)
B. The Captain of each respective team will be responsible for collecting and submitting the fees for their team. This will be effective April 3, 2019.
C. No team will be scheduled for practice times in advance unless the non-Resident fees are paid in full. If the non Resident fees are not paid at the beginning of the season the non Resident will not be eligible for practice or match play until the fees are paid.
D. Any Riverwalk resident that has not paid their HOA fees will be suspended from practice and all team matches until such time as their HOA account is paid.
E. All requests to start a new team in Riverwalk must be submitted, in writing, to the Tennis Committee prior to the start of the season. The Tennis Committee and the Board of Directors will review and advised if approved..
F. ALTA home matches will be blocked off on the schedule by the Tennis Committee, upon receiving the communication from the respective Team Captains.
G. Team practices must be coordinated with the Tennis Committee prior to the start of the season. Only ONE team will be allocated a specific time slot for practice on any day. Teams will be allowed to reserve two courts for a duration of two hours per week for the season. Practices may start two weeks prior to the first week of the season and can continue through the regular season, or through playoffs if needed. If and when allotted courts are not expected to be used on the assigned practice day, the captains should ensure that the courts are released in a timely manner.
H. Captains for the teams using the courts for league play are responsible for ensuring the complete cleaning of the grounds and tennis courts following the completion of league matches. Trash must be removed and tidy court cans empty. All trash to be placed in appropriate containers by the clubhouse for removal service.
I. Teams are responsible for putting away all equipment (rollers).
J. THE CLUBHOUSE MUST REMAIN LOCKED AT ALL TIMES EXCEPT FOR SCHEDULED MATCHES. CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES IN THE CLUBHOUSE. NO PETS ARE ALLOWED IN THE CLUBHOUSE.
K. Violations may result in fines or suspension of teams and reinstatement will be at the discretion of the Tennis Committee.
L. The Captain of any team using Riverwalk tennis facilities as home court must be a Riverwalk resident. The Captain and Co-Captain are responsible for the condition of the clubhouse and courts following each match.
M. Visiting teams and non-Riverwalk residents DO NOT have pool privileges; the Riverwalk residents on the team must enforce this rule.
COACHING AND LESSONS BY NON-RESIDENTS
A. Any non-resident coach who wants to reserve courts to hold tennis lessons must obtain approval from tennis committee. At least 50% of all students must be residents in order to get approval.
B. Before a court can be reserved, an approved coach must submit a roster of non-resident students together with the fees according to the above fee schedule.
C. The roster must be updated on a quarterly basis.
D. Tennis committee has the right to suspend coaching privilege if above rules are violated.
